For this Unit, we talked about how to create space and depth in an artwork. We specifically learned how to draw using one-point perspective. For this assignment, students created a room using one-point perspective. If you look close, these rooms are no ordinary rooms, they all have a surrealistic twist! Nice job students!

We are surrounded by color. In Art 1, we experienced how the three primary colors can create all the colors on the color wheel. We learned about different color schemes and how they can enhance a work of art. For this project, students chose a color scheme and created a drawing using oil pastels. I think they turned out awesome! Nice job art 1!
For our first unit we studied Value. Students chose an image and they did a value drawing using two different types of pencils with different harnesses. Students used the grid method to help them draw correct sizing and proportion. I think students did an awesome job on these. Way to go Art 1!
Texture is the way the surface of an object feels or looks like it feels. For this unit we studied texture. We talked about the difference between actual and implied texture. We also reviewed various watercolor techniques. In Art 1 students were challenged to create a watercolor painting that incorporates texture. Students did a great job! Impressive work!
